Yup, we do get quite a bit of Sanniang's backstory in this one, but more on that in a bit.
Wuqiu is still on the hunt to get the eldest Bao in his clutches, with getting over on Gexiao being more than the icing on the cake. Bao's previous encounter with the vendor selling the poison medicine leads to Wuqiu getting a tip on where to find Gexiao, Sanniang, and Bao. Of course, because snitches get stitches or end up in ditches, the informant is going to be kept silent, but Wuqiu has something special in mind...
So with the Brocade Guards hot on their trail and with Gexiao's vision failing due to the poisoning, we get Sanniang's backstory while they take a break from being on the move. She was an orphan child that was abandoned but then taken in by the nuns of Emei. Come to find out that Sanniang is the daughter of the Abbess, when the Abbess figures that out from a piece of half a jade pendant, suddenly she gets all cold and strict with Sanniang. Bitch.
However, when her and Sanniang were tussling when Sanniang left, she slid the Emei token into Sanniang's gear...the token that was in Gexiao's shirt when Wuqiu shot him. It just so happened to be in the perfect place to stop the bullet, go figure. So, it seems that the Abbess ain't all that bad.
Fast forward to the trio arriving at Emei. Many of the other nuns greet her like a returning sister, but Sanniang is having none of it. Damn woman, get over it! Eventually, they are let into Emei but then are arrested and held captive because Gexiao is a seriously wanted criminal. Then Wuqiu shows up and the Abbess totally lies and tell him that other than his crew, there are no men in Emei. Though really, there isn't because Sanniang had got them free of their chains and the hell out of there.
So now, Bao, Sanniang and Gexiao are heading to Sky Lake because it's waters can cure ANYTHING, and the Abbess has totally just punked Wuqiu down.
This damn download needs to hurry up...
